Stop! It's Fashion Amie time!

I'm dying! I'm dying!

Last weekend we got together with some extended family for my mother's 70th birthday - and by "some", I mean "around 30" of us. Just a small portion of that side of the family.

During the day, she decided it was time to learn to fake her own death properly. Clutching her throat and hoarsely crying "I'm dying, I'm dying" was about the extent of it, and she wasn't all that convincing, but that'll be our little secret.

A step stool + teddy bear + beanie = a turtle!

Me: Have you cleaned your room and put your toys away?
Amie: Yes!
Me: Really? Or are you telling me fibs?
Amie: Really!
Me: So if I went in there it would be clean?
Amie: Oh, don't go in there. The door is locked.

She ran off with my camera again, which meant we ended up with many photos of her face from odd angles and degrees of closeness.

There were lots of these shots.

Amie: You're the bestest mummy I've ever had take care of me.
Me: Aww thank you, honey.
Amie: You're welcome, bubblebutt!

(bubblebutt is just one of the nicknames we have for each other)

Despite what it looks like, she is most definitely not peeing on the ground. She knocked over my drink while we were waiting for the bus, and that led to a conversation about evaporation and how much faster the drink that was in the sun evaporated than that which was in the shade. She insisted we get a photo of it and decided this was the best way to pose.

I asked her to go find some shoes, and her choice was yet again her dinosaur rain boots. As soon as she put her sunglasses on, she told me she was Fashion Amie, and began strutting across the lounge room, top model style, before posing. It was hilarious, so we had to get some photos of her favourite model poses. :)

She's got style!

I was watching this documentary on TV the other night, about the Lego factory, and it had her absolutely enthralled. She doesn't even have any Lego, but she was fascinated by the entire process. It was interesting to watch her watch the show, with all the little details she picked up on.

Last week, she gave me a laundry list of chores to do, by unfurling her towel and 'reading' from it. The list was 1 - do the mopping. 2 - do the dishes. 3 - do the vacuuming. 4 - do the ironing. A few days later she very kindly drew up a  new list of chores for me to do, and I'm quite impressed with her level of detail. Top left is clean the bathroom, with a bathtub on top and tiles beneath it. Top right is vacuuming, with quite a large vacuum. In the middle is washing the dishes (sink full of dishes, water running). Bottom left is washing the clothes (it looks like a front loader, even though we have a top loader), and bottom right is make the bed. I have one of those egg carton underlays on the bed, which is what those circles are.

I think I'll do a post with some of her artwork that I've kept, because I think she's quite the little artist. I keep a folder with her best work, so I'll definitely have to scan them up to share.

If you come over to visit, you might get the chance to eat at the Amie Cafe, which is her latest business venture. This is a Mummy Cheesecake she made, that looks just like me.

She removed the face before she used a power saw to slice it up. No half measures here!

A few days ago we snagged a new second-hand lounge set, and Amie has decided this is the best way to watch TV. She sometimes sits in the chairs, but there's something very fun about sitting (or standing) on the arms like this. I guess perhaps it's the perfect length for her to lie down comfortably.

Today we had a visit from Grandma Brenda, Aunty Lucy and cousin Eddie, much to her excitement. Don't let her expression in that picture fool you, she had a great time. She served Aunty Lucy lunch in her cafe before wowing them with her nursery rhymes and her drawings.

We tried to get a nice photo of the cousins together but before we could get a nice happy shot, Amie learnt just how much babies love to pull hair.

It hurt a little bit. He managed to pull quite a few out when she was trying to hug him goodbye too, much to her dismay. I do like this shot for the contrast in their emotions after he got her hair.

After some calming down, we managed to get a nicer photo of them together, though she wouldn't sit right next to him. She does love her hair where it is!

We came across this site today, and it's become a new favourite of hers already. It's definitely a great time waster! She's become really proficient at using the computer, and is able to play on a few sites by herself (Club Penguin, Starfall and Disney Jr mostly), with minimal supervision from me. She's growing up so fast! Only four more months until she starts prep. I can't believe she's almost old enough to start full time education. Where did the time go?
