Curtains are clearly for playing in. This time, they're the sails on her pirate ship.
Me: Do you know what we have in the fridge? BANANAS.
Amie: *immediately runs to the fridge and grabs some* Are they still bexpensive?
Me: Not any more!
We're both happy bananas have dropped in price :)

One chore I dislike doing is putting away the clean washing. I've named my clean washing pile Sherman, because he keeps coming back, and anything that spends that much time in my room deserves a name. So while I was busy trying to dismember Sherman thoroughly, Amie was trying to keep him.
Not seen: Amie kissing Sherman.
I'm not sure if this is "to infinity and beyond" or "by the power of Greyskull."
I needed a coffee one morning so I sat down with one. I could hear Amie rummaging around in the kitchen, but as the coffee hadn't kicked in, I didn't check. She soon come out with her My Little Pony mug, smacking her lips saying "ahh, coffee." Turns out it's Mountain Dew, but I guess the effect is the same.
As she starts prep next year, we had to go up for the interview to finalise enrolment. We were there a bit early so we sat in the lunch area and had a snack and something to drink. Once we were done with that, she decided it was time to play.
A little bit of surfin'.
A little bit of posin'.
I look at this child and I am filled with love for her. I am so lucky to be blessed with her, to be her mother. I am in awe of her intellect, her humour, her compassion, her understanding of the world around her. She brightens my world and can always make me laugh, even on my darkest days. She is an amazing person, and I am do looking forward to discovering who she is as she grows.
Someone remind me of this the next time she pisses me off :p
After the interview and enrolment was finalised - which I'm still having trouble believing she's old enough for! - we walked home and spent some time in the park. She commented that it wasn't raining this time, which is a bit of an unusual event. There were quite a few times we'd gone here and had it start raining not long afterwards.
It's spring. I don't know why the leaves are falling now!
By decree of the Pirate Princess Amie, my name from now until the end of time shall be...Bubba.
I may have to file an appeal on this one.
I made this Nyat Cat scarf for a friend of mine and was trying to take a picture of it. Miss got quite upset because she wanted to be in all the pictures.
Her new sandals almost allow her to go en pointe!
Amie: Whatever you do, don't panic.
SO not the words you want to hear your child say. But it was okay, she's the Bear-Man and was just warning me there were bears around.
She looks scary, but this was the "happy face" I asked her to make.
Amie: This wool is belly wool
Me: Uh, what? Why?
Amie: It smells like bellies.
Me: What do bellies smell like?
Amie: Skin.
Me: Is that a good thing?
Amie: *nods*
Me: So the wool smells nice?< Amie: Yes! I really don't know.
I...I don't even know.
Gotta admit, I love being told "I love you SO much. You make my heart super happy" and that I'm the best mummy ever :)
I realised that I hadn't heard from her for a while. The last I'd seen, she was heading off to the bedrooms with my phone. That's not an unusual occurrence, so I let her be. After a while I went looking for her...and couldn't find her. We searched for a while before eventually she called out...from the closet.
She was "on holiday", with her blanket, pillow and my phone. According to her, the inside of my closet is "fancy", which is why she likes to hang out there so much. She's quite happy playing in there, as she brings along some books and toys as well as my phone.
Honey, whenever you're ready to come out of the closet, I'll be there for you. ;)
