Hair Tales

I forgot to include these before, so thought I'd do a new post instead of edit the last one.

I was trying to get a photo of her hair, but she insisted on running away.

Strike a pose!

This is how she is requesting to have her hair done lately, which makes both of us happy. It stays out of her eyes, stays neat for longer and keeps the knots to a minimum. Our hair is the sort that if you stare at it long enough, it'll start to knot, so doing anything else means it's all a tangle come the end of the day. She is not a fan of having them brushed out.

What she likes the most about this hairstyle, is how fun it is to whip her head back and forth like this. She'll walk around the house shaking her head so her hair is flying all over the place and will sit there twirling her Cindy Brady curls while watching TV.

I thought it was hard enough to get pony tails to sit at the same level on my own head, but it seems to be even harder to do it on hers. Partly because she can't sit still for long. Have you ever heard anyone say that little girls don't know how to walk? Well, it's true. She'll run, jump, hop, skip, dance, prance, pretty much anything other than normal walking.

She may look drunk, but I swear she's not.

She came and sat beside me before with a bowl on her head, requesting a hair cut. I have NO idea where she picks up things like this, but I do admire and appreciate her imagination and sense of humour. She's very proud of her imagination, and while she's busy playing she'll turn to me and say "I'm using my imagination!" which I think is great. Though that imagination leads to more strange conversations like this one:

Amie: You're making my bum disappear!
Me: How am I doing that?
Amie: By breathing, silly!

I guess I should have known! She's also picking up a bit of an American accent, for which I'll blame Dora the Explorer. Hearing her talk about "haht dahgs" and "dahllars" instead of hot dogs and dollars is just plain old weird!
