She was disappointed that it wasn't as big as it was yesterday, but there hadn't been more rain to fill it up. I'd forgotten to bring her boots with me, so she got to squish about in it barefoot.
After asking very, very nicely to play with the playdough, how could I say no?
Carrots and peas!
At school they made bird feeders, so she was very excited to find a place to hang hers.
Juuuust out of reach. A few days later we saw that something had been eating it, but we don't know if it was birds or a possum. It was still VERY exciting for her.
So excited, she then proceeded to fly around the yard. Or pretend to, at least. A flying four year old would be somewhat disastrous!
We threw some seeds out on the driveway and grass, hoping to attract some birds, but none fell for it. Normally there are lots of them hanging around our yard, even when we're down there, but since she's wanted to feed them...nope. They must've heard it on the grapevine to stay away.
She carefully collected all the corn - she wanted to plant them all.
She kept telling me she was too fast for me to catch on camera as she ran past. She did this a LOT.
After flapping around the yard for a while, the Amie bird decided it was time to eat.
We grew tired of waiting for the birds out the front, so we headed into the backyard, where Hurricane Amie left a trail of destruction.
That's a picture of the Bullet from Super Mario, with Mario and Luigi standing underneath. Luigi has REALLY long arms.
And there are Mario and Luigi again, as some kind of conjoined creature with flowers for eyes and mouth.
Another original masterpiece - an Angry Bird on the left, with a Happy Pig on the right. There's a somewhat Indifferent Sun up the top, too.
We have to get some silly shots before we can try for nice ones. She insists. She slept over at her Grandma and Poppy's house on Saturday night, and had a great time. I was told she didn't want to come home because she was having too much fun. When she did come home, she discovered Helen and Darius were visiting, which meant she was instantly over her disappointment of having to come home, as she loves to play with Darius. She did find time to give me a kiss and cuddle before running off to be with him. It's nice to be so wanted, hey?!
I've decided to get back into sewing, and have been reading through a lot of craft blogs. I came across this tutorial. I saw this shirt at the Salvos yesterday, and thought it'd make a nice dress.
I really like the pattern!
She didn't like trying it on when there were pins involved, but she liked the results. I still need to tweak the straps again and maybe add a snap or hook to the top of the back, and while it's obviously not store bought, I'm very happy with it.
I asked for a nice photo, this is what I got.
Not only does she get a new dress, but it fits nicely with her interest in taking something old and making something new out of it :)
