These are from June, because I've only just downloaded them off my phone. An even bigger whoops there! We went to Leoma's house for a Tupperware party, though Amie thought we were there so she could play with Estha and Bly.
Estha has a microscope set, which Amie found fascinating. They looked at some dead bugs and other interesting things in there for a while.
The best part of the visit was getting to feed the chickens, though.
She really, really, really wanted
to hold a chicken, but once Estha gave one to her to hold Amie realised how "scratchy" they were (thanks to the active feet) and let go almost immediately. She insisted that I hold one, which I did, after catching it myself. I'd never held a chicken before that!
Estha's an expert chicken hugger.
Millie wanted to check out the coop.
She did try again, but their flapping about put her off from lifting it up by herself. She still loved trying!
I carried a watermelon. I mean, pumpkin!
We're in the middle of winter here, which is definitely cold enough for us, though others may laugh at how warm it is here compared to what they get. She does keep hoping for snow, but I just don't see that happening in our locale.
Aside from having to wear warmer clothes, and more of them, winter doesn't impact in our activities much. And going out in the sun is actually pleasant for a change!
Collecting flowers is one of her favourite activities when we're outside (another reason I'd like to have a garden going - I think having a flower garden is something she'd really enjoy), but the best part of it for her is giving them to other people. I'm usually the recipient, but when we're out walking somewhere, she'll give them to people on the street or at the shops.
She's also taken to giving me "wedding flowers" lately, where she'll give me a bunch of dandelions and tell me I'm getting married. Normally to her.
Back in this post was the picture of an outfit Amie selected, one that she deemed appropriate for a chilly winter's day.
She definitely didn't think it was too cold to wear it while playing outside! At first, anyway, but then how cold her legs were caught up with her.
I have no idea why this hole is in the laundry wall (it was there when we moved in), but it's perfect for playing peekaboo.
Our friend Lauren recently went to Uluru on holidays, and came back with this shirt for Amie. The soft, fluffy fur is her favourite part about it, though today she insisted on wearing (over a long sleeved shirt) so we could sing Alice the Camel, one of her favourite songs.
These next photos are of terrible quality, but my camera batteries were recharging so I had to use my phone. I'm not sure why they were so grainy, but you get the idea of what she was up to, anyway :)
Every knight in shining armour needs a steed! In her case, a purple unicorn will do nicely.
And Tyra would be so proud. Amie loves to pose in very Top Model ways when I take her picture these days. She does the broken down form quite well. Modelling on a unicorn while holding a sword and shield? Talent!
It took some convincing that under the bed wasn't a storage area for kids.
