Amie asked to wash up, so I said she could if she picked up her toys. Rewarding helping with the housework...by letting her do more housework? Works for me!
4th
Amie just asked if we could get a cheetah.
7th
Amie "called" me to tell me she was off to put out a fire, because she's a fireman. While she was on the phone, she slid down the "fireman's hole" and then put on her pink fireman's uniform. She's got style!
***
Amie keeps running out of petrol. Maybe I should take her in for a tune up, because having to feed her AND keep her petrol tank full is gonna get expensive.
***
Aww my little geek just typed her first chat message. She wanted to chat to K too, so I told her what letters to type, and she wrote "Amie loves Krishelle". :D
9th
I'm also working on getting Amie to say disk properly. It keeps coming out as dicks, which just ain't right.
10th
Also, is it wrong or awesome to re-enact some scenes from Jaws with a three year old and a toy shark? Because it sure is fun.
11th
I'm trying to convince Amie that we should call her shark Feargal.
Feargal Sharkey, at your service.
12th
Amie: What's that? (pointing to the robot fixing the THX sign at the beginning of the Cars movie)
Me: That's a log.
Amie: What's a logo
Me: It's a sign a company uses so that you can recognise their products.
Amie: What's a product?
Me: Something they sell.
Amie: What's a sell?
Me: You know what that is. Something you buy.
Amie: What's a something?
Me: *headdesk*
13th
There has been a rash of toys and children eating cats, it seems. Good thing Dr Mummy is on the job. Also good that Dr Amie was on call when those same toys ate a bunch of cows and needed emergency care. It never stops around here!
14th
We have now set up the Amie Shop in the back room. It's so cute how much she loves it. PLUS when you buy something, she often pays you to shop, and won't take your money. SCORE.
16th
While reading through some of her dinosaur books, we saw that someone had written their name inside the cover. I said it was a naughty child who had done that. Amie's response? "Oh yes, must be Lulah!" (meaning her cousin Talullah)
17th
Ah, children. They're so funny. At the playground, Amie was playing on the seesaw. She pointed a picture of a penis (complete with testicles) that someone had drawn on there and said "Look! Someone drew a bone. But they didn't finish it." Yes, they did draw a bone. And then later she was pretending she had two pet fish. I asked her what their names were. Her suggestion? "Doggy and kitty. Those are good names, right?"
***
Ah, it's begun. Amie has realised I have a name other than mummy, and will sometimes cheekily call me 'Nise. I prefer that than Cow as she calls me at other times. Which isn't as bad as it sounds - she just loves cows and will replace words with it, whether she's singing or telling stories, so I might get a "good night cow" from her.
***
And her excuse for not staying in bed this time? She needs to a) talk to 'Nise, b) make me laugh, and c) she needs medicine for her "headbreak".
18th
In a move reminiscent of when my god daughter K was of a similar age, Amie asked me to pull her head off today. When I told her I couldn't do that, she tried to take mine off.
19th
She set up a "library" in the lounge room by putting some books out on the floor, and we crossed the "road" to go inside to choose books. We then went to the "garden" in my room to read them - the garden being my bed, as the sheets have flowers all over them.
20th
If you're wondering why it's raining today, it's because the sun is melting. Why is the sun melting? He misses his mummy, who lives in outer space.
***
I just had Amie laughing so much she had tears in her eyes. That's what happens when you have a campout on your bed (blanket as a tent, pillow as a fire for marshmallows), and your child leans on the pillow with one hand to roast their marshmallows...not realising they just set themselves on fire. Crazy kid! Gotta love her :D
***
Amie is riding her pony car and wearing a sieve on her head.
Amie: Mummy I'm a DJ!
Me: What's a DJ do?
Amie: They go DJ DJ DJ! You be a DJ!
Hmm. I didn't realise it was such an easy job! Also, that sieve nicely doubles as a tennis racket, and her toy lemon makes a great tennis ball...or so she says.
***
I find it so funny when I sing "Rockabye baby in the tree top" to Amie, because she tells you that she's got a parachute so she'll be okay
21st
I'm trying to tell Amie that we have to go vote today...she thinks I'm talking about boats, and asks to go on the "cat on the river that Anna told me about" (Anna being her day care teacher). So now she thinks voting is going on the city cat ferry and wants to do that instead, asking "can we go on the vote on the river?"
(from when we did go on the City Cat, about a week later)
27th
Gotta wonder about that girl sometimes. Today in our pillow fire (after she changed the flames from purple to orange to pink), she cooked a shark, an elephant, a koala, a dog, and a baby.
