It's that time of year again...

Do you know what time it is?

I do, I do!

Why yes, it is Santa photo time!

This year they had the option to upgrade to the USB instead of the usual CD, and you'd get all of the photos taken in your set, instead of just the one you chose to print. Why they don't make this an option for the CD, I don't know. A way to get more money out of you, I guess. But I have a gorgeous child and choosing a Santa picture is always hard. I'm so glad she was happy during the sitting, because we were behind a bunch of babies who wouldn't stop crying during their turns. On with the show!

Stop! It's Fashion Amie time!

I'm dying! I'm dying!

Last weekend we got together with some extended family for my mother's 70th birthday - and by "some", I mean "around 30" of us. Just a small portion of that side of the family.

Web cam madness

Vampire Amie dares you to read on!

We got a new web cam on the weekend, which takes much better pictures than our last one. I wanted to take some nice photos of us together this morning, she wanted to take silly photos. We had to take quite a few of the latter to get a few of the former, but it was all fun.

Mud, mud, glorious mud

I'm a firm believer that puddles are made for splashing - but only on the way home or will be staying home all day. We've got a week of wet weather ahead of us, and on the way to daycare this morning I promised Amie that she could splash in all the puddles she wanted on the way home.

Baby farts

While cooking dinner last night, we had this conversation:

Amie: When I grow up, I will have a hundred, a thousand babies!
Me: Oh my, that will keep you very busy. How will you take care of them all?
Amie: Um, by keeping them alive. I won't kill them. I'll fart on them.

I had no response to that, other than laughing. What else could I say?

Holy Monty Wars!

I think educating your children is an incredibly important part of raising them. Not just the standard subjects at school, either, which is why I decided we needed more Monty Python (in the form of their search for the Holy Grail) in our lives.

When Amie saw that the movie we were watching was full of knights, she had to join in.

Family time

It was another chilly morning today (4ÂșC!) but that didn't stop Amie from getting up before 6 and wanting to be a knight early on. She loves her long hair, and loves wearing it down, but it always gets in her face if it's not clipped or tied back. Her new flower wreath was the perfect accessory to solve this problem.

Once upon a time...

The BIG event this week was going to the Abbey Medieval Festival. Amie was most excited about seeing real sword fighting in action. I decided against bringing her sword and shield with us, as I was sure I'd end up having to carry them. She was happy to go without them, especially once she saw how much was happening there.

Front and centre for some fencing.

Go fly a kite!

It's been a social week this week, which Amie's loved. We've been to the park and to a medieval festival with friends at different times, which gave us plenty of photo opportunities.

I don't even know.
